The UN/ECE Taskforce on Integrated Assessment Modelling, COST Action 729 and the ESF Programme NinE jointly organised a workshop on 'Integrated Assessment Modelling of Nitrogen', hosted by the International Institute of Applied Systems Analyses (IIASA) located at Laxenburg (Austria).

The main objective of this workshop was to explore the possibilities for a more integrated approach when dealing with nitrogen, the framework that is needed for such an approach, the integrated assessment modelling approaches that are available to include nitrogen and to define the necessary future developments. These developments will be directed towards a proposal for a possible integrated nitrogen approach within the revision of the Gothenburg Protocol.

About 80 participants from many different countries contributed to the workshop. In 5 sessions divided over 2 days, interesting talks were given that gave insight in varying aspects of integrated nitrogen and its relation to Integrated Assessment Modelling. The agenda of the workshop, as well as the different powerpoint presentations of these 5 sessions can be found  below as pdf-files.
